Play Sable. If you’re in any kind of transitional stage in your life, especially late teens/early twenties, I cannot stress how important this game is.
It’s a coming of age game where you leave the nomadic clan you grew up in and take your sentient motorbike out in the desert to go around the open world doing tasks in an attempt to find what you want to do with the rest of your life. This is called your Gliding, and everyone in this world goes through one, and as you talk to them they express nostalgia and wonder and sometimes regret, but all of them miss their own Glidings. It’s called Gliding because you have the ability, when you’re falling, to hold your breath and glide slowly and gently to the ground. Sable will reassure you over and over that however you may feel in your life right now, you’re not falling, you’re gliding.
Plus, it’s visually stunning and in a very unique art style, and the soundtrack is by Japanese Breakfast, and you get to play dress-up and also customize your bike. I promise, you have never played a game this beautiful and peaceful and comforting.
